ONWARD!
if you’re like us, you’re planning out your summer calendar and we hope a trip to Denver, Colorado is on your radar!
From June 28 – July 1, 2025, the Church of God will be hosting the biennial Church of God Convention and General Assembly in Denver, Colorado. There are so many reasons to make sure Denver is part of your summer plans! The lineup of speakers is top notch. The worship team is an incredible group of Jesus followers, many of whom we know personally, AND Children of Promise will be there!
You’ll have two official opportunities to engage with Children of Promise during the convention schedule.
On Sunday, July 29, Children of Promise will host a lunch starting at 11:30am. The cost of the lunch is $15 per person. Pre-registration is required.
On Monday, July 30, we’ll host a breakout session from 8:30-9:45am. And, of course, our team is always available for conversation at our table or over a meal.
When you register for the convention at www.CHOGconvention.org make sure you also register for the Children of Promise lunch at that time. We can’t wait to connect with you! We are so excited about some new ways we can help you carry the load of deepening your Kingdom impact around the world.
EXPERIENCE YOUR IMPACT FIRST HAND!
We will never stop inviting you to join us on a Children of Promise trip, and we hope you’ll take us up on the invitation this year!
In 2025, we have plans to visit our programs in Brazil, Ecuador, Tanzania, Peru, Guatemala, Ghana, Philippines, Rwanda, and Nepal. If you sponsor a child in one of those countries, or have every wanted to visit one of these countries, this could be your opportunity!
We do everything we can to make traveling internationally as seamless as possible for you. We’ll book your flights, we’ll make all of the arrangements on the ground, we develop the schedule and provide free training. With competitive pricing, always including airfare, we make international travel easy and fun! We even provide tools to help you fundraise for your missions trip experience.
Additionally, our 2025 Adventure Fundraiser will be in Guatemala in June 2025, followed by our 2026 Adventure Fundraiser in Egypt! For more information on any of our trips including approximate dates and costs, visit childrenofpromise.global/trips. You can even secure early bird pricing (a savings of $500!) by paying for your trip in full three months before the departure date.
SPONSORSHIP GOALS
We have 151 children who are ready for sponsorship and we have a goal of getting each of them sponsored by the end of June 2025. We want to introduce you to three of them today.
Dylan is 14 years old and loves playing volleyball. He dreams of becoming a teacher and wants to travel the world someday.
Angeline is 8 years old and loves to sing at church. She wants to be a doctor when she’s grown.
Amosh is 5 years old and loves playing cricket and talking. He has one sister and loves attending Sunday School.
You can sponsor these children and many more like them at www.childrenofpromise.global/sponsor. Did you know that you can narrow your search parameters by using filters including country, gender, and biggest need? Those who are listed as “biggest need” have been waiting the longest or have a special medical condition that needs immediate attention.
We are so grateful for you and the ways you continue to show God’s love and deep concern for children around the world through the ministry of Children of Promise. You are a blessing to us and to the children we serve.
RICE AND BEANS CHALLANGE
All around the world, Children of Promise families depend on rice and beans for their sustenance. We see different combinations on every program visit, from gallo pinto in Costa Rica, to fried rice in the Philippines, these staples are often a daily meal.
By taking the challenge, families in your church can sit in solidarity for one week, substituting one meal a day for rice and beans. We have provided devotionals for families to think through what life is like for families in the same stage of life in places like Kenya or Thailand.
Then, at the end of the week, take the funds you saved by eating rice and beans and donate to the Gap Fund to help more children gain access to the life changing resources of Children of Promise.
Make sure you take advantage of all the FREE resources we’ve put together, including a 5-day devotional guide, a collection of recipes, and even some fun cooking videos at www.childrenofpromise.global/riceandbeans.
Have some fun, do some good, and together we can make wholeness possible
