Sponsored children LOVE receiving letters from you. It makes them feel seen, loved, and valued.

• A family photo, postcard, bookmark, sheet of stickers, or anything that can fit in a greeting card envelope
• Information about family and church events
• A favorite Bible story or verse
• Updates about your children or grandchildren
• Family interests, hobbies, activities
• Favorite foods
• How you are praying for them
• How proud of you are of them
• Answers to prayer
• How God is working in your life
• It is appropriate to share sad news that pertains to the child, i.e. your spouse passed away.
• Your financial situation
• Recent renovations to your home or purchases (car, home, electronics, etc.)
• Luxurious vacations
• Details about health conditions
• Gifts given or received, or prizes won
• Please do not mention amounts of money sent for birthdays or Christmas.
• Please do not tell the child that you are coming to visit. If a visit is scheduled, your CofP trip leader will arrange meeting your sponsored child with the program director. This eliminates disappointment if plans fall through or distrust if you’re not able to fulfill a promise.
Do NOT provide your contact information (physical address, email address, phone number, or social media name. For the child’s and sponsor’s safety, CofP guidelines require all communication between the child and sponsor be done through the CofP office. If a child contacts you by email or through social media, please let the CofP office know.
