FULL CIRCLE GENEROSITY
When we, Mike and Heather, were in Tanzania in June, we met Franke. He joined our team as a translator the day that we traversed steep rocky roads to visit children in a remote village. It was his gentle demeanor and ability to coax conversation out of the shyest of children that really stood out to us.
It wasn’t until later in the day that we heard his story.
As a young boy in the town of Mbulu, Tanzania, Franke was also a CofP student. He spoke with deep gratitude for his sponsor of thirteen years who made it possible for him to complete high school in 2012.
Franke, a former Children of Promise student, now teaches at a local school in his home town, a school where many current CofP students attend. Franke excelled in school and was able to go to university to pursue a Bachelors degree in Education.
After several years of teaching in other locations, Franke has returned to his home village of Mbulu with his wife and young daughter.
He now teaches at the Church of God Primary and Secondary school where many current Children of Promise students are enrolled.
The students in Franke’s classroom, the children in his church, the kids in his community, and even his own daughter can see themselves in his life. They can dream big dreams for their own future because, in Franke, they have a real life example of what God can do in the life of a child growing up in Mbulu, Tanzania.
It’s these full circle moments that are poignant reminders of the lasting, generational impact of Children of Promise.
Your sponsorship is making a difference in the life of a child today, and your sponsorship will make an impact for generations to come
RADICAL GENEROSITY
We recently received a note from a faithful sponsor that really touched our hearts. She wrote, “Will you and your team please pray for me? Hard times continue. These are times that rely completely on faith… There are just enough pebbles along this journey that give me hope. God can do great things. Every single second of every day seems so bleak at times. When I can give what I have to others, it gives me strength. These children need all of us to prevail, at all costs. This is what gives me strength.”
We are moved by her tenacious generosity.
We are honored that she trusts Children of Promise to steward her generosity well.
We are challenged by her consistency in prioritizing the needs of vulnerable children above her own.
Join us in praying for her and for the thousands of other sponsors, past, current, and future. May God’s radical provision in our own lives compel us to be radically generous toward others for His Kingdom and His glory for generations to come.
