ADVENTURE PERU
The CofP trip to Peru in June was AMAZING. Our team of eight jumped right in with flexibility and servant hearts and found ways to engage with the ministry.
Owen and Nora, the youngest members of our team, quickly discovered that playing duck-duck-goose and soccer with kids can be done despite the language barrier. It was so wonderful to hear the laughter as they had fun with their Peruvian peers.
Our program director, Telvi (pictured below in the striped shirt), and her family were such gracious hosts. Telvi runs the program with excellence and knows each of the sponsored children and their stories. She is an incredible advocate for the children in Peru and is the perfect example of why this locally shaped, globally supported ministry works so well.
One of the highlights for the Wiggins family (right) was meeting their sponsored child and visiting she and her mother in their home.
Samantha Cooling’s Spanish language skills were an incredible asset to the team as she helped us communicate and connect with our Peruvian brothers and sisters more freely. Vadim Sokolov’s natural curiosity and love for Scripture helped us engage with Peruvians and share copies of God’s word with many people.
Because this trip was our annual Adventure Fundraising trip, we spent additional time exploring the beauty and history of Peru. The highlights included cultural dancing in the streets of Cusco, a “bean to bar” chocolate making experience, exploring the ancient ruins of Saqsaywaman (google it!), and walking the final portion of the Inca trail as it enters the ancient city of Machu Picchu. It was truly an ADVENTURE. The opportunity to engage with sponsored children and their families, and spend time with Telvi and her team of volunteers, made it an unbeatable experience.
We want to invite YOU to join our 2024 Adventure Fundraising trip to COSTA RICA! This experience will be unique in that you’ll have the opportunity customize your trip. You can pair the adventure in Costa Rica (think rain forest, sloths, volcanoes!) with our first Latin America Global Learning Forum (GLF) and/or a program visit to one of our Latin American countries. The approximate dates are:
June 2–6, ‘24: GLF in Costa Rica with our Latin America CofP directors.
June 6–10, ‘24: Adventure Fundraising Trip in Costa Rica or program visit in Honduras.
June 10–16, ‘24: Program visit in Costa Rica or Nicaragua.

CHOG CONVENTION IN TAMPA
It was wonderful to connect with so many of you in Tampa during the Church of God convention. We were blown away by the huge turnout at our luncheon and all of the traffic we got at our booth. Thank you for sponsoring children, buying t-shirts, and for encouraging our team. We are so grateful for your partnership!
If you weren’t able to join us for the luncheon, we want to challenge you in the same way we challenged the 200 people who were in attendance. Children of Promise is growing and we need you. Would you prayerfully consider engaging with Children of Promise at a deeper level this year?
If you have questions about how you or your church can help us grow, reach out to Kyle Hayes at KHayes@childrenofpromise.global.
